[Literally juicing himself up. That's adorable. Carrying it around like a Caprisun drink.]

[ Yeah he's never gonna be in the top ten but he'll be happy not being last. Still. it's extra hard to think of studies with everything else that's going on. ]
You mean car batteries or the ones that go in some smoke alarms? Because as long as they're normal batteries they're essentially just MORE battery. The square 9 volt ones are like 6 AAA ones. Car batteries and large capacity batteries are different and awful, I hated them during our training camp and tries my best to not 'backsplash' when I ran my electricity through them!!

Makes sense. Is it the taste or the capacity you don't like about them?
[The "more battery" comment clears up so much. It's kind of interesting cause he's never heard Denki talk like this before. Sort of surreal.]
I can only tell so many heroes apart when they have the same backstory of tragedy striking them and they lost their family member, cousin or dog. That makes me feel terrible, man!
[ It's a stereotype for a reason. ]
and mostly capacity cuz there's so much of it rather than a little buzz, but car batteries have so much extra stuff in them that the charge is gross.
[ Congratulations, leveling up in relationship to the hidden special interest. ]
[ It starts innocent enough, with Kirishima sending a text to 'check out your boyfriend being cool on channel 20!' The TV is showing the scene of Chargebolt's latest mission, and a reporter seems to already be on the site. ]
"Thank you for joining the Hero News Network, I am Tanaka Hanabi and we are currently following the events at the Shizuoka Power Station. A minor earthquake caused a serious malfunction at the station with massive electric discharges from its broken power network. Up-and-coming Pro Hero Chargebolt is on the scene, and has so far evacuated thirteen of the fifteen employees by redirecting electricity and moving power cables."
[ The place is fairly big, and it really looks to be in a bad shape when it comes to the half-collapsed building, blown transistors and popping lightbulbs. At least the press and the EMTs are gathered far away, and the police seems to keep their distance as well. Only one person could really handle this mess, and he's already working on it. ]
"We have been told that he will make his way to the half-collapsed control room to find the failsafe, but so far there are still electric arcs of power seen from the windows and out by the cable network. We don - hold on, we have the two last employees leaving the building now! Amazing work from Chargebolt!"
[ A brief glimpse of the blonde hero is seen, smiling brightly at the audience as he carefully helps the last workers out, bending and redirecting the electric charge to keep a safe route for them to leave. Then, with a little grin and some finger guns, he heads back inside.
Just a few minutes later, the whole place seems to shut down, turning dark and quiet. ]
"The power appears to be under control now, so our hero must have found the failsafe and shut it down. It's been less than an hour since he arrived on the scene and the accident is already under control. We're hoping to get an interview after he's given his statement to emergency services and the disaster team."
[ All in a day's work for a hero. It seems to have gone perfectly, and Denki should be home again in a few hours.
Should.
...there's always something, isn't there? The now quiet building remains dark, but no sign of a certain lovable idiot. Tension sneaks in, the collected people murmuring among each other. Something's not right. ]
"It's been fifteen minutes since the power was shut down and no sign of Chargebolt returning out of the building again. Emergency services are pushing forward into the station to find out if the young hero is injured."
[As if Bakugou isn't already keeping Channel 20 on while he works on his Grenadier bracers. Sitting in his room, a set of tools and blueprints resting on the desk momentarily swept clean of school supplies and now covered with a protective cloth, the blonde's tinkering away at his gear while listening to the news. It's a rare time he's not out doing his own mission while Kaminari is working on his own. Usually he doesn't like to be "inactive" while a fellow classmate and hero is on the field.
Listening to it in the background, occasionally glancing towards the screen, Bakugou keeps track of the news report, wanting to stay up to date on his boyfriend's success. Initially he'd been wary about Chargebolt doing solo missions. For their first few months in U.A., he didn't have a high opinion of Kaminari. At all. Though things mellowed and finally warmed, it was harder for Bakugou to trust his classmates to succeed on their own. Luckily he learned to accept that. But... things were different when you were actually dating the person out there on the field. The tension and concern remains despite appearing outwardly fine and casual with saying you trusted your boyfriend to handle himself just fine. Bakugou's only human after all.
So, he's tuned in. Glaring a bit at Tanaka for talking to the screen and not showing Chargebolt. Did they just abandon him in there? Maybe, considering all the electricity. Was anyone else in there with him? The building doesn't look secure at all, half-collapsed like a broken in cake. Even the sparks from bulbs and occasional wires continue to show on the screen. Fuck, someone cut the power to that building already! Can't blame the cops for staying away, but...]
Heh. As expected from you, Kaminari.
[Getting everyone else out safely even if the place's failsafe's a piece of shit for not turning off already. Bakugou relaxes some when he sees his boyfriend helping the worker out of the building. Good, he's okay. The surge of power he's redirecting is pretty fucking amazing to watch. Like a tunnel of electricity. Dumbass is gonna finger gun the cameras too. Save the fucking showboating for later, Denki!
And finally the power goes out, plunging the building into darkness.]
Took you long enough. Bastard should've done that first... [Gonna have to talk to him later about that. Unless people were in danger of getting fried immediately, kill the source of the danger first, then worry about getting people out. But that's Bakugou's method. They can discuss it afterwards. Snorting at the mention of an interview hopeful, he goes back to his work. The press after heroics. The bane of his fucking existence. Always wanting more than the few annoyed words Dynamight wants to give.
But it's the few minutes turning into longer minutes that have Bakugou looking back at the screen again. The fuck? Why the hell's he not coming out? With emergency services pushing into the station, the blonde narrows his eyes at the screen, leaving the work on his desk alone for now. He better not have gotten fucking injured after pulling off that rescue without a problem, only to trip on a damn cable in the power room once it was all safe.
He looks at his phone. Gonna give it five more minutes before he calls him.]
[ Few people walk into a heavily electrically charged building, so this was for Chargebolt alone to dive into. He has a better limit now and knows how to redirect rather than just suck in all the power until he short-circuits, so getting people out was easier.
Getting into the collapsed room with the failsafe? A lot harder. Victims first.
...yet there's still no sign of him, no grinning blonde meeting his fans and enjoying pictures and interviews. Time is ticking extra slow as nothing seems to be happening. Instead the emergency services are now setting up perimeters and starting to talk to police and the disaster unit, and one of the reporter's ears grows to twice the size as she picks up on what they are saying. ]
"According to the emergency personnel and their now extensive search of the station, there are no signs of Pro Hero Chargebolt. Nothing else has collapsed, but there are mentions of blood at the scene. The search is going to be extended to the full area to see if the possibly injured hero has tried to escape to safety."
[ With the main threat out of the way, the power station is quickly filled with the people that come after a hero saves the day. Police, ambulance, sidekicks... all while concerned onlookers are safely behind hastily put-up barriers, cameras going off like crazy.
Nothing like some drama with your drama. What happened to Chargebolt? ]
[They didn't have an outside power station? Knock out the powerlines around the area temporarily? He gets power stations need to be protected, but fuck... anyone think about what happens if something inside goes bad? Though guess if the failsafe is in the collapsed area, that would make it harder for Kaminari. He's got more muscle now than he started with, but he's still not shoving boulders and debris around like some of his classmates (and boyfriend).
It's only five minutes of nothing and Bakugou shoves out of his chair, snarling as he heads for the door with one look in his eyes. Yeah, no. He's heading out. They're not in U.A. anymore and there's no teachers to tell grown Pro Heroes (even if just starting) what they can or cannot do. It's been almost half a year since Dynamight and Chargebolt outed as a couple in the middle of their final year at U.A. And they only just moved into an apartment together a month ago after graduating. For now, Bakugou's working with Best Jeanist's agency, so that's who he's reporting to as he blasts his way across the skies.
Earns still listening to the broadcast via the headset and comm device in his collar. Mentions of "blood" at the scene doesn't help either and he kicks things up with Cluster. Meaning that it's pretty damn obvious when those "boom boom boom!" sounds herald Dynamight's arrival before he slams down from the sky amid a cloud of smoke and flash of explosive fire. Walking out of it with that same purposeful stride he always take, though this time with a slight more aggression than usual, the new Pro heads for the scene.]
Who's the last asshole to see him? What entrance did he use to go back in? Where's the failsafe room? And get every fucking exit covered and checked! Who's doing the damn perimeter search?
[Already asked for the police to review the footage of all street cameras around the powerplant as well for the past hour.]
[ It's a long journey from their place close to the Genius Office and the Lurkers Agency in Tokyo to Shizuoka, over a 100 miles, but flying removes all the hindrances that Bakugou might have run into. It does mean, however, that by the time he arrives to the power station, most of the search-and-rescue has already been done.
There are loud gasps and some cheers as Dynamight makes his entrance, more cameras going off - but nobody is stupid enough to run forward to get his comment on the situation. Not only because he's known for his temper, but it's well-known by now that Chargebolt and Dynamight are lovers. Not even the press wants to push that particular button, and there's no suicidal paparazzi here.
One of the police officers comes over to talk to Dynamight, together with the Disaster Response Unit's head. ]
"We last saw him go back in after taking the final missing personnel out. He went back the same way. The control room is in the back of the building, mostly collapsed. Every exit is watched and we have brought in rescue dogs to see if they can get his scent."
[ He starts walking towards the building with the hero as he talks, not at all surprised to see him here. If it wasn't Dynamight, it would have been another former A-1 student - those young heroes were very protective of each other. ]
"It's good you're here, as you know the missing person. The Lurkers are sending Cellophane over to help, but it will take longer for him to arrive."
[ The place is a mess, with scorch-marks and blown electrical equipment everywhere. It's not easy to turn off the power to a place that makes it, but why the failsafe didn't work was still a mystery.
The officer takes Dynamight into a hallway that has been taped off, more officers and others working on taking photos and putting markers out on what looks like a spray of blood on the wall near the smashed door that says 'control room', and some more drops down the hall.
It's gruesome, but doesn't look anywhere near fatal. Maybe a head wound? ]
[Doesn't stop him from demanding answers and wanting more information when he gets there. He knows the police and other heroes can be trusted to do their jobs well, but Dynamight is using that trust as explanation for why he can drop down and start calling for the data to assuage his concerns. Chargebolt wouldn't just go into the building and suddenly up and vanish like that. And he's not the kind of sneak out the backdoor to avoid people talking to him.
Something happened and Dynamight wants to know what.
Good thin to press keeps their fucking distance; he's in no mood to entertain their shit right now. Hardly is in the mood to ever entertain their shit asides from giving a curt summary and then either issuing a challenge or stating his victory.
He walks towards the police office approaching him and stops in front of him, frowning at the man as he listens.]
Were the exits being watched during the search-and-rescue extraction, when Chargebolt went back in to handle the failsafe?
[Good ol Cellophane to the rescue. Honestly, a few people thought Kaminari and Sero were going to end up together, with Bakugou and Kirishima being the other couple, but apparently shit swapped? More thinking about that later! Focusing on the mission, Dynamight glances towards the building. It's sounding less and less like Chargebolt might still be inside...
Especially as he's led in, eyes scanning over the marks on the wall and the exploded equipment. The failsafe not working after this much damage is a fucking red flag.]
So this place had an electrical surge, the failsafe didn't trip, Chargebolt had to manually find it in a collapsed and blocked room, and-
[He pauses when the sight greets him. Not the hallway with tape, but the sign of blood on the wall. For a second, he's frozen, but then immediately hardens up, checking the ceiling and the walls around it visually for any sign of a cave in or explosion that might've dropped debris on Kaminari's head or blown something out the wall at him. Because if neither of those are the case, and the guy didn't look wounded on the camera when he went back inside to find the failsafe...]
Get the video of the back of this building for the last hour. Now! And I want a list of every single person who came into this building or was on the premises for the entire day!
[ It's probably a good thing that Sero and Kaminari never dated, because no matter how chill the Taping Hero seems, they would have been absolute chaos together. They're already known to do dumb shit at the Agency already, god only knows what 'good ideas' they would have in a relationship. Kirishima, while also kind of a clueless idiot sometimes, is good at tempering 'ideas'... and they work well together, just like the two blondes.
The officer gives Dynamight an apologetic look when the hero asks about the exits being watched. ]
"Nobody could move in before the power was shut off, and the back had fencing that was electrified due to a fallen cable. We set up perimeter as soon as the power was off."
[ Humans not made for electricity could not do much when millions of voltage was going haywire. Still, the fence, the failsafe, the complete lack of anything fallen or exploded in the hallway that could have caused the blood? Something was really wrong.
Another police officer walks up to them as Dynamight starts giving orders, a younger woman with long, floppy bunny ears. ]
"The security station and all the surveillance is completely cooked, there's nothing in there that survived. Seems it got a direct hit with falling cables. The employees are being questioned as we speak, and we'll learn who's been in and out."
[ She's about to say something else when a man with a dog appears, wearing S&R clothing. He has a certain visor in his gloved hand, lenses shattered and more blood on one side. ]
"We found this in the back yard, about 25 feet from the building."
[If anything, watching Cellophane whip a balled-up Riot around like a personal morning flail is one hell of a fucking crowd clearer and a wrecking ball all in one. Though it's got nothing on Dynamight and Chargebolt's Electric Eruption. Ever put the power of a fucking lightning bolt in a grenade? Uh-huh. Cataclysmic.
Anyways, Dynamight glares at the officer's apologetic look.]
Then you set it up around the fucking fence. What if someone tried to get out the back?
[Or in, as he was now concerned. He'll give them the worry of the electrified fence, but that was no excuse for leaving gaps in the perimeter watch! Contain the entire affected area! (And there are plenty of people who can jump a fucking fence). He's less angry at them for not going into obviously dangerous territory and doesn't fault them for leaving Chargebolt to handle it. It's the damn blind spots they're not dealing with.]
Shit.
[A direct hit? No way to prove if it was accidental or on purpose in this short amount of time. But that's put on the backburner when the man with the dog arrives and Bakugou finds himself staring at a visor he immediately recognizes. Red eyes widen at the sight and he pauses for a second before instantly hardening back up. A lot more this time. Very pissed.]
No one fucking leaves this area until we have an entire fucking headcount for who was in here today.
[Dynamight grabs at his collar to radio in to his Support team.]
I want every damn road and traffic surveillance camera around the Shizuoka Power Station to have their recordings reviewed.
[He looks back at the man with the dog.] Which side of the building did you find that? [North. South. East. West.]
[ Dynamight and Chargebolt's Electric Eruption is the flashiest (literally) combined super move and Kaminari adores it, always making the biggest, dopiest grin whenever they use it. A big smile that's missing, no sweaty, happy boyfriend returning from a mission and demanding hugs.
Just blood on the wall and a broken visor.
The place is very quickly turning from a disaster site to a crime scene, and more police is called in. It's a bit difficult to work between the people that need to secure the collapsed areas and the police looking for evidence, but everyone's doing what they can.
The Dynamight support team is also starting their work immediately, checking any kind of surveillance they can, and sending over any information to the police team setting up a base outside of the building.
Meanwhile, the search and rescue man gestures to the explosive hero to follow him. ]
"South side, the back area. There's a service road there for garbage and maintenance. There's a lot of tire tracks back there so we're working on checking for the fresh ones. My dog was signaling in the bushes, and we found the visor. Either dropped or tossed there."
[ The police has set up a perimeter on the road when they get there, taking photos of the tracks. ]
[Yeah, it's the lack of his idiot boyfriend that's pissing Dynamight off to the point of yelling at police workers. The continued addition of more and more clues that keep getting more and more disturbing and pointing is another tax on his already-concerned mind. He wants answers and he wants them now! The first 24--48 hours after a kidnapping are most important!
Blood on the wall and a broken visor. Shit...
Bakugou opts to leave the building, letting the forensics and search units do their things without him getting in the way. He heads for the south side with the man and his dog, determined to start his own search there. The back area. No fucking shit. With a service road no doubt. If someone sabotaged this plant in order to lure Chargebolt here, then pounced him while he was in here alone looking for the failsafe...]
Tossed. Unless they're fucking idiots and decided to throw a tracker out the damn window.
[But if Chargebolt was hit on the head inside, his visor had a good chance of being knocked off. So finding it outside, which would've been after he got hit and taken, if they hit him inside, how the hell was he able to throw his visor off? Shit, they really need security footage to know, but with the building's main system fried...]
A lot of vehicles arrived here while he was working, but so far none of them have left that we've seen. Why was no one stationed at the back of the building while Chargebolt was working on rescuing people?
"I'm afraid I don't know. It's possible that it was an oversight, considering everyone believed it was a rescue mission and not a kidnapping."
[ The S&R man says, and he looks worried. Obviously they fucked up somehow, but why would someone grab a hero like this? The fact that it all seems to have been a whole setup to get Chargebolt on the scene eludes him.
Meanwhile, the support team crackles in Dynamight's ear. ]
"We got a garbage truck leaving the service road a few minutes after the last employees were saved. Traffic cameras caught it, but the plates are false. The person driving the truck is obscured, but we're looking for details."
[ Cracked on the head and possibly stuffed in a garbage truck? Damn, no respect for their target at all. Whoever grabbed Kaminari didn't care for his safety, which is concerning. Unharmed victims are easier to ransom, but that might not be their plan at all... why go through so much trouble for a fairly new and lower-ranked hero? ]
A perimeter is one of the first things to do during a fucking rescue mission.
[Dynamight snarls at the man for the excuse. It didn't matter if it was a rescue mission or a kidnapping, all points should've been covered! Fuck, even if it was a rescue, there should've been a perimeter just in case someone ran out the back or something! Now they've got a missing here and for some fucking shit reason, NO ONE seems to know jack shit about what happened. Chargebolt didn't vanish into thin air either!
He turns to the side, resting a hand over his ear to cover up the piece and block out the noise around him.]
A garbage truck? Fucking serious? [And turns back to the S&R man.] Go ask any of the plant staff about a garbage truck on the premises today. Got a report the plates are a fucking fake.
[Does this place have a basement or a bunker of any kind? Dynamight heads towards the service road, eyes narrowing down the length of it. More than half an hour since it'd left... Trying to find it would be a fucking ridiculous. Garbage is going out today anyways, so there could be a shitload of them all over the streets. Even at this hour. The police are going to keep tracking that one through the street cams, so there's no much he can do until they either lose the truck or pinpoint where it stopped.
He goes back to the radio as he heads for the man in charge of the operation.]
Get Pinky and Red Riot on the line. I'm gonna meet up with Cellophane here.
for blastedass
[ For now. Who knows what dumb stuff gets outed in a few years when they're pro heroes? ]
What, I always talk about cool things all the time! No I put them in a battery power bank and then put the cord in my mouth!
haha, that is a cute image.
Yeah right. Fucking brainless talk most of the time. Not "I know electricity details" shit.
[There's a difference between talking about the latest video game (or whining about school) and explaining different battery charges.]
Never seen you do that before.

...there's always something, isn't there? The now quiet building remains dark, but no sign of a certain lovable idiot. Tension sneaks in, the collected people murmuring among each other. Something's not right. ]
"It's been fifteen minutes since the power was shut down and no sign of Chargebolt returning out of the building again. Emergency services are pushing forward into the station to find out if the young hero is injured."
no subject
Gonna give it five more minutes before he calls him.]
no subject
no subject
[Already asked for the police to review the footage of all street cameras around the powerplant as well for the past hour.]
no subject
no subject
[A set up. Bait.]
no subject
"We found this in the back yard, about 25 feet from the building."
no subject
[North. South. East. West.]
no subject
no subject
Why was no one stationed at the back of the building while Chargebolt was working on rescuing people?
no subject
no subject
